2008 Fuqua Pinot Noir
"Aromas of sassafras, orange sherbet and fragrant bay leaf are a playful introduction to this bright and youthful offering from Fuqua Vineyard. A lovely sweet entry opens up to red cherry and cranberry flavors that drift dreamily into the long, mocha-laced finish. Balanced acidity with lithe tannins round out this sprightly Pinot Noir."
Fuqua Vineyard was planted in a prime Dundee Hills site in 1972 by one of Oregon's vineyard pioneers, Gary Fuqua. This 7 acre vineyard, at a mean elevation of 600 feet, is located on the east flank of Worden Hill Road. The complexity of the wines made from Fuqua Vineyard is derived from twenty year old vines rooted deeply in weathered basaltic soils.
