93 points  The Wine Advocate

The 2009 Pinot Noir Tuenge Vineyard offers exceptional complexity, balance, and density for the vintage. Layered, seamless, and long, it will drink nicely through 2021 if not longer.

Erath 2009 Tuenge Pinot Noir Chehalem Mountains

“Excellent ”  Wine Press Northwest

Founding winemaker Dick Erath first planted Pinot Noir in the Chehalem Mountains in 1968, and this vineyard — pronounced “tongue-GEE” — near Hillsboro, Ore., sells fruit to other wineries. This 10-barrel lot offers aromas of blueberry, dark strawberry, cherry, plum, toffee and coffee bean with a bit of minerality. There’s a blend of blueberry and raspberry flavors on the palate that shows nice balance with cherry-skin tannins and a finish of milk chocolate.

Erath 2006 Tuenge Pinot Noir Chehalem Mountains

90 points  Wine Enthusiast

It’s pronounced tung-GEE and was formerly known as Chehalem Mountain vineyards. As is often the case with this AVA, it has substantial tannins and a firm, compact structure that bodes well for cellaring. The fruit mixes cherry, pomegranate and hints of banana, while the barrel flavors add some toast and butter.

Lithe, supple and graceful, this bursts with cherry, orange peel and rose petal flavors that cascade over a bed of fine-grained tannins, lingering on the pure, generous finish.

Erath 2006 Tuenge Vineyard Pinot Noir Chehalem Mountains

87 points  The Wine Advocate

The 2006 Pinot Noir Tuenge Vineyard from a Chehalem Mountain locale is a bit herbaceous and high in acidity, traits not typical of this vintage. On the palate the wine is silky textured, ripe, and elegant. This wine is a single-vineyard selection aged for 14 months in 40% new French oak. A bit more flesh would have made for a higher score.
