The 2006 Pinot Noir Estate Selection is a blend of five vineyards. Medium ruby-colored, it offers aromas of strawberry and cherry, soft tannins, and an easy-going personality. The flavors are savory but the wine is in need of complexity.

Erath makes a solid, reliable, all-purpose but somewhat generic Oregon Pinot Noir. This blended wine fills a desperate need for something that can represent good old basic Oregon Pinot Noir. It's accessible and spicy, with clean and tangy red fruits. A bit sharp and acidic, it should improve over the next couple of years as it softens out.
