Like several of the Erath ‘08s, this is attractively perfumed on the red and blue pinot fruit nose that complements well the nicely rich and round medium-bodied flavors that possess good vibrancy on the long but ever-so-mildly tangy finish that I suspect will round out in a year or two.

Medium ruby color; deep, rich, earthy, forest floor aromas with some herbal notes; rich, ripe earthy cherry flavors with herbal, forest floor notes; silky texture; good structure and balance; long finish. Earthy style of Pinot with a nice delicacy about it.

Light in color but complex in flavor, with lots of cinnamon, clove and other spices weaving through the red berry flavors, lingering gently on the refined finish.

Erath 2006 Leland Pinot Noir Willamette Valley

“2006 Oregon Pinot Noir - Wines of the Week”  Slashfood.com

...Compared to what you might pay for a mass-market Pinot Noir from California – is well worth the splurge. These are wines you are going to remember long after you've finished them... 2006 Erath Winery Pinot Noir Leland: Baked, sweet cherries and vanilla are on the nose of this silky wine. Despite its balanced structure, it's got a spicy finish that lingers and a rich, chocolate-y mid-palate.
