Erath 2009 Leland Pinot Noir Willamette Valley
92 points The Wine Advocate
Although light in color, the 2009 Pinot Noir Leland Vineyard offers up a seamless, intense, beautifully elegant wine reminiscent of a quality Chambolle-Musigny. This lengthy effort has the concentration and balance to blossom for another 2-3 years and will provide enjoyment through 2021.

Erath 2009 Leland Pinot Noir Willamette Valley
“Excellent ” Wine Press Northwest
The Webers have been selling all the fruit from their 4-acre vineyard near Oregon City to Erath since 1987, and it’s easy to see why Dick Erath locked this up. Gary Horner called in these grapes on Oct. 12, resulting in aromas of dark plums and strawberries with barrel notes of light mocha, vanilla and caramel. Flavors of red currant and cranberry give it bright acidity, and a touch of tannin should make for a delicious pairing with duck confit.

Erath 2009 Leland Vineyard Pinot Noir Willamette Valley
88 points International Wine Cellar
Bright medium red. Cherry and black raspberry aromas are complemented by musky herb and licorice qualities. Fresh red and dark berry flavors show good clarity and back-end snap. Manages to be rich and energetic at once, finishing with good mineral bite and a touch of bitterness.

“Outstanding” Wine Press Northwest
Winemaker Gary Horner is taking one of Oregon's oldest producers to greater levels of excellence. Leland Vineyard near Oregon City has been a staple of Erath for more than two decades, and in Horner's hands, its grapes rise to the pinnacle of quality. This opens with complex aromas of cinnamon, raspberries, cherries and chocolate. On the palate, the flavors include classic notes of high-toned red fruit with hints of oak. It's the velvety, ethereal texture that raised this wine above others.
